America seems an awful long way to go

3 songs today to make up for my silence

Lorelai-Fleet Foxes

I love Fleet Foxes. They have such a chilled sound to them, like nothing could ever or even should ever go wrong. It's as though even bad things through their eyes would be good, it's all perspective after all. It's strange that the marriage of these strange lyrics that aren't cynical or depressing but are neither uplifting or happy. They are thought provoking, the best kind of lyrics.

Stay Gone-Tyler Ramsey

This has a nice sound to it, like interesting background music. His voice has a hint of American Country and Western about it, kind of traditionally folky. A little whiny but pleasant to listen to. And the tune has grown on me too.

Last of the melting snow-The Leisure Society

These guys definitely have the best voices in todays line up. And the same delicate tune to go with it. There are no heavy noises in this song the gentle strum of the guitar is the loudest sound. He has a haunting kind of lingering voice, but it's not a haunting lingering. It's a pleasant one like a good friend or a nice person. It's a romantic image "Last of the melting snow" and this is, I believe, a romantic song. It could even be a classic Christmas song.
