Sweeping wind that haunts the night

Adam Barnes- Come Undone

It finally felt like Spring was on it's way on Tuesday and then it rained again. And possible snow in London on Monday...no thank you.

This song however makes it feel like Spring. It's hopeful and makes me optomistic for the future. It's all I can be as I'm never with Greg and it gets me down a little bit. I'm just waiting for Easter break and summer when we can spend as much time with eachother as we can. It's going to be fantastic.

I first heard about Adam Barnes through Green Man voting system for an act to open the stage. He's gone from strength to strength and this EP is fantastic. Very uplifting and just what I want from an acoustic sounding album like this.

There's never time to save

Gary Jules-Falling Awake

Occasionally, very occasionally, I just feel like a good cry and enjoy songs that make me feel like I want to cry. Not an emotional cry out of personal sorrow but just general release of emotions. Of course there are certain songs that I associate with moments in my life and they're sad for a completely different reason and this is not what I'm looking for right now. I have no idea why this song is sad but it's the tempo and the chords and the length of the song all together. Along with the hopeless sound in his voice.

"You never get to choose, you live on what they sent you"
"And that's just the way it goes, falling awake"
Makes me feel like there's no point in striving for anything when he sings it.

In spite of real distance we'll always be close

Keaton Henson- Sarah Minor

This is rather fitting isn't it, yes you're the other side of the world but I love you.

His haunting, soft, vulnerable yet powerful voice is not what I need right now, I feel like I'm about to burst into tears and I don't think I could deal with someone breaking my heart.

How we feel is hard to fake, so let's not give the game away

Gabrielle Aplin- Please Don't Say You Love Me

I love this girl, her voice is magical and so touching. Not my usual thing but she's original and I love that.

This doesn't apply to me fortunately and I couldn't be happier about it.

"Doesn't mean my heart stops skipping when you look at me like that"

Maybe I didn't tell you

Keaton Henson

This man is the most emotional person I've ever heard (I think)
My favourite poem I've ever read is this one by him:

Grow Up With Me
Lets run in fields and fear the dark together
fall off swings and burn special things
and both play outside in bad weather

Lets eat badly
lets watch adults drink wine and laugh at their idiocy
lets sit in the back of the car,
making eye contact with strangers driving past
making them uncomfortable
not caring, not swearing, don’t fuck

Lets both reclaim our superpowers
the ones we all have and lose with our milk teeth
the ability not to fear social awkwardness
to panic when locked in the cellar
still sure theres something down there
and while picking from pillows each feather
lets both stay away from the edge of the bed
forcing us closer together

Lets sit in public, with ice cream all over both our faces
sticking our tongues out at passers by
lets cry
lets swim
lets everything

Lets not find it funny lest someone falls over
classical music is boring
poetry baffles us both
as nothing that’s said is what’s meant
plays are long, tiresome, sullen and filled…
with hours that could be spent rolling down hills
and grazing our knees on cement

Lets hear stories and both lose our innocence
learn about parents and forgiveness
death and morality
kindness and art
thus losing both of our innocent hearts
but at least we won’t do it apart

Grow up with me.

I'm frightened by the devil

James Blake- A Case Of You

Still can't get over how beautiful this version of this song is. Really hits me very deep every time. He's playing in Bristol tomorrow night and if my bf isn't going I will be bitterly dissapointed.

"You told me life was touching souls and surely you've touched mine"

Singing through the windows, singing through the trees

Passion Pit-Constant Conversations

Good old Passion Pit can always be relied on to produce something a little bit strange! And they haven't disappointed, this is a little slower than I imagined as I heard the remix by Little Daylight first and got accustomed to how fast it was but the original is more heartfelt for sure. You feel the emotion and reading the backstory you understand the song more.

"Now I'm drunker than before babe, told me drinking doesn't make me nice"
