Lyrics are like gateways

Okay I've just been listening to more of Keaton Hensons music and I don't think I've ever heard someone so heartbroken and actually destroyed as him. His lyrics are gorgeous the website is wonderful and the fact he doesn't like to perform and keeps himself to himself is wonderful. Perhaps a bit of a Nick Drake emerging here? Such heartfelt emotional lyrics from someone so young are quite upsetting to hear. He is obviously an extrememly emotional person who can convey this in a magical way to everyone. It doesn't even sound like he is moaning and pining after her, especially not in Party Song which adds a dark disturbing twist to the otherwise beautiful love songs.

I like how on his website it says
"Dear Unknown,
I hope you listen as though it were all for you

I hope she knows it was.

I hope you can forget that I do both

It meant more before.

The Author."

That is literally what songs are to me; gateways that go both ways. The writer releases their feelings on the world and the receiver interprets the lyrics in a way that helps them. Anyway I hope very much to see this young man live at some point he is extremely talented and enjoyable to listen to.

Do you notice when you're sad?

I've been useless I know and I don't know why I'm posting this now as I have no new songs to post. I'm thinking about people I've been listening to recently and I can't think of anyone. God damn you Christmas, you've killed my brain.

Here goes, I don't even remember if I've posted this before but hey ho.

Keaton Henson-(Any of his songs but for this post) You Don't know how lucky you are
Most of this song could have been written for/about me. I hate physical contact:

"You don't like to be touched,
Let alone kissed"

I do feel so misunderstood sometimes, by myself and everyone else, and these lyrics reassure me that I'm not alone:

"Do you know who you are?
Do you laugh just to know what you lack?"

And this final line is intriguing. The whole song he seems to have been hinting that she is with the wrong man yet at the end he says
"D0es his love make you head spin?" suggesting it does and that they are right for each other. Strange.

He also has a fabulous beard rivaling Mr McMorrows. I saw a link about him on twitter then a from My Bands Better Than Your Bands blog I was reminded of his fragile voice and intriguing lyrics.

Are you leaving me? Can you let me know?

Dan Wilde-Be Gone

Wow only 98 views. What a privilege. Mr Wilde has such a soft sound to his voice and I love it, it's so sweet yet not at all sickly; it's comforting and the twangy guitar compliments his smooth tones perfectly. The marriage of the lyrics and music is wonderful, it's a kind of longing and wanting that evokes sympathy from the listener. It's a very emotional song and you can sense he has been left alone in his voice.

I love the feeling when we lift off, watching the world so small below

White lies- Death
I never noticed the connection between the band and the song before but that's interesting. Hmmm anyway here is the song and it is glorious. They were also wonderful live even though I only saw a snippet of their set before rushing to Jared Leto (aka a beautiful human being who put on an incredible performance).
Wow two years old already. And they've peaked in popularity now.
ahh here is the original. Much better than all the remixs. His voice is strangely wonderful and I don't quite know why. He sounds almost out of time in places. Gives it a wonderful disjointed feeling.
Pretty sound lyrics too. I also like the fast drum beats, gives it a bit of life.

"Fears got a hold on me." This features in another song I think it's a Ben Howard one I shall elaborate tomorrow as I have shit loads of stuff to do.
